The story behind Veyra

Veyra started on a Friday night, with a laptop and 23 open tabs full of sofas — none of which felt like "yes, this one." Our founder was sitting on a sofa he'd been unhappy with for two years. Too deep, too grey, too modern. Among all those tabs, there wasn't a single one he could picture in his actual living room. Not next to the cabinet from his grandfather. Not under the lamp he'd bought in Lisbon. That's the strange thing about buying furniture. You know how you want to feel when you walk through the door. You just don't know which pieces are going to get you there. And between those two things sits a gap of endless scrolling, second-guessing, wrong choices, and eventually buying something just to be done with it.

We thought it should be different

Veyra is built on one belief: figuring out your interior should be the most enjoyable part of moving in or renovating. Not the most stressful. Not the most time-consuming. Here's what we do, in four steps: 1. You show us what your room looks like now. 2. You tell us how you want it to feel — warm, calm, playful, modern. 3. We show you real furniture from real shops, placed in your room. 4. If you like something, you buy it on the spot.

No 23 tabs. No "I'll figure it out later." No surprises when the delivery driver shows up with a sofa that's clearly greyer than the photo.

Not Pinterest. Not the showroom. Something in between. Pinterest is great for dreaming — but it won't put that dream in your room, with your dimensions and your light. A showroom is great for touch and feel — but you only get one setup, one mood, one combination. At home, everything looks different anyway. Veyra sits exactly in between. Between the dreaming and the buying. Between "I want something" and "yes, this is it." Not photos of sofas in showrooms — your room, with the sofa in it.
